Grease is the most popular method for lubricating sealed bearings. Grease is commonly a combination of approximately 85% oil and 15% soap or thickener. The soap or thickener retains the oil in the same manner that a sponge retains water. The oil is allowed to bleed out as the bearing requires it when its internal temperature increases.
Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease is a superior water-resistant Lithium Complex formulation with moly for added protection, especially under heavy loads. It resists acids and alkali and will not harden within its effective temperature range. Available in cartridges and 35-lb. Pails. Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease Lo-Temp Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease Lo-Temp is an Aluminum Complex grease with moly for additional protection under heavy loads. Intended for use on anti-friction and plain bearings. Highly resistant to water washout; excellent rust resistance properties; provides maximum protections from wear under shock load conditions. Available only in 118-lb. Keg. For a more comprehensive discussion of bearing lubrication go to: www.mapro.skf.com/knowledge/knw_lubric.02.htm.
