Many pulley block manufacturers recommend Lithium Complex greases for lubricating swivels and swivel balls, blocks and sheaves, and roller bearing block and sheaves. In addition, lubricating the wire rope or chain associated with the pulley block can contribute to longer life and less unplanned downtime. But where pulley blocks are operating in harsh environments such as blowing sand, dust, or dirt, high heat or extreme cold, standard oils and greases do not stand up well. Under these conditions Dri-Slide® lubricants containing molybdenum disulfide are a better alternative.
Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease
Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease is ideal for pulley blocks. It is a superior water-resistant Lithium Complex formulation with molybdenum disulfide (“moly”) for added protection, especially under heavy loads. HDMP Grease also resists acids and alkalis and will not harden or run within its effective temperature range. The addition of moly continues to provide short-term lubrication even if the grease itself has worn away.

Dri-Slide® Multi-Purpose Lubricant provides excellent protection against harsh elements. Regular applications of this widely used specialty lubricant will extend the useful life of wire rope and chain.
