One of the lubrication problems encountered by rail cars is the dusty environment in which they are often operating. Under these conditions oils and greases attract dirt, dust, and other airborne particulates, often forming an abrasive – a lapping compound – that can actually wear away the surfaces being lubricated.
Dri-Slide® lubricants go on wet in order to get the lubricant to all surfaces and creep into the smallest openings. The liquid carrier evaporates and leaves behind a dry lubricant bonded to the metal surfaces. Dri-Slide® dry lubricants will not attract dust, dirt, sand, or airborne particulates and will repel moisture as well as the affects of acid fumes. These qualities are particularly beneficial when lubricating hopper car gates; boxcar door slides; rail car couplings; and anywhere that moving metal parts come into contact. Dri-Slide® Multi-Purpose Lubricant
Use Dri-Slide® Multi-Purpose Lubricant on all metal-to-metal contact points.
Dri-Slide® EP Liquid Grease
Use Dri-Slide® EP Liquid Grease for those applications where re-lubrication intervals will be longer.
Dri-Slide® HDMP Grease
A superior water-resistant Lithium Complex grease with the added protection of molybdenum disulfide (“moly”) for heavy loads and extra wear protection. Resists acids and alkali. Excellent water washout properties. For use where temperatures range -5°F to 275°F (-20.5°C to 135°C). Will not harden or run within its effective temperature range. Lubricates significantly longer than do greases without moly. Excellent for lubricating wheel bearings, king pins, ball joints, spreader Vs, and plain bearings. Ideal for highway maintenance vehicles, heavy construction equipment, and difficult industrial applications.
